One day, inspired by her search for films with a certain spry spirit, she decided to create her own.

With a craigslist camera in hand and a super 8 filmmaking workshop under her belt, she began shooting.  Her first film, the Search, was an 8 minute film conceptualized and shot in the course of a single day.  It featured a cast of three and a crew of two and a half...As she hadn't yet discovered the world of non-linear editing, the film was hand-edited and spliced frame by frame.

the Search went on to screen in several film festivals, including Curve Magazine's Cinema Close-Up, Seattle's LGFF and Portland's LGFF.  A filmmaker was born, and she hasn't been able to slake the thirst yet.  Her second film, the Little Knave, is currently in the film festival submission phase.  Look for it at local film festivals in your neighborhood soon.

frames per second films is a super 8 film collective. we are a tiny, independently owned cooperative committed to providing a voice to the voiceless. based in portland, oregon, our staff is comprised entirely of bike commuters and we believe deeply in the power of community. we also believe that every story has an audience. if you have an outrageous story in an oppressed kind of way and would be interested in collaboration, contact us at: sarahnaomi@filmspersecondfilms.com

reviews:
the Little Knave has been accepted  into the Baltimore Women's Film Festival. they called the Little Knave,"...something very special... and you and your team deserve a nice pat on the back. We are so thrilled that we will have the opportunity to screen your film later this year."

the Search
screened at the Seattle Lesbian and Gay film festival as part of "Through a Glass Queerly: Experimental Shorts". they
called the Search "a dreamy evocative visual poem." we like that. a lot.

the Search also screened at the Curve Cinema Close-up. Curve magazine called the Search a "festival favorite".
